The Story Behind PAZ
Built through experience. Grown through trust.
PAZ Construction didn’t begin with a lifelong plan to become a contractor. It started during COVID, when I partnered with someone who had much more construction experience than I did and began learning through repairs, remodeling and handyman work.
My first company was JNI Solutions, named for something I learned early: almost every problem has a solution. One of our first major projects turned an unfinished room into a complete bathroom. With every project, we learned more and found satisfaction in leaving something better behind.
Learning Through Storm Recovery
Before PAZ, we traveled to Pensacola to work on hurricane-damaged homes. That experience showed me that sometimes construction is simply about helping someone get their home back.
Then Hurricane Ian hit our own community. I was in Cape Coral with my family. Afterward, we helped haul ruined belongings out of homes, handle demolition and repairs, and remove damaged pool cages.
While we were taking down one damaged enclosure, a neighbor asked us to rebuild his screens. That project led to another homeowner, then another neighbor. Referrals grew, screen enclosures and lanais became our focus, and the work became PAZ Aluminum.
Growing Into PAZ Construction
In those early days, we estimated jobs, answered calls, ordered materials and installed the work ourselves. My cousin Luis became an important part of that period, helping us take on more work and grow.
Customers often needed several connected improvements: an enclosure, pavers, a door, gutters or soffit. I wanted to make that easier to coordinate. I pursued my Florida General Contractor license so we could take greater responsibility for our work and expand what we could build. PAZ Aluminum became PAZ Construction.
PAZ Means Peace
PAZ means peace in Spanish. For us, it represents the kind of construction experience we want to provide: calm under pressure, clear communication, practical solutions, and the confidence that someone is taking responsibility for the project.
Hurricane recovery also reinforced why fair pricing matters. Good work needs good people, quality materials and a business that can stand behind its responsibilities. It should never depend on taking advantage of someone who needs help.
The People Behind PAZ
Nothing we’ve built happened alone. I’m grateful for my wife, Dargley, my mother, our crew, suppliers and trade partners. Their support, and my faith in God, have helped me keep learning and building.
Cape Coral is home. PAZ has grown job by job and referral by referral. We intend to keep earning that trust through clear communication, fair treatment, quality work and personal accountability.
